Etihad boosts frequency on Abu Dhabi–Frankfurt route – Business Traveller

UAE national carrier, Etihad Airways, has announced plans to ramp up services to Frankfurt in Germany.

From May 1, the airline will add an extra four services a week to its current daily frequency, bringing the total number of weekly flights to Frankfurt up to 11.

The additional flights will be operated by one of Etihad’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft which has 28 seats in business and 262 in economy.

Arik De, chief revenue officer of Etihad Airways, said: “We are pleased to offer our guests more flights to Frankfurt, one of Europe’s most important airports. The increase in frequency also means greater connectivity to our growing network and the opportunity to welcome more visitors to Abu Dhabi.”

Customers flying to or from Frankfurt with Etihad can use the airline’s Rail and Fly service to travel by train from any station on the Deutsche Bahn or SNCF network.

Last month, the carrier announced that it was launching flights to another German destination – the western German city of Dusseldorf.

Starting October 2023, Etihad will operate thrice weekly flights to Dusseldorf. Also in October this year, it will begin operating four weekly flights to the Danish capital of Copenhagen.

In related network expansion developments, Etihad has said that it will ramp up its Abu Dhabi and Jakarta from a daily to double-daily service starting October. Meanwhile beginning this month, it will begin an additional weekly flight to Shanghai from Abu Dhabi. It will therefore have two weekly flights to Pudong International airport (PVG) using its Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft.
