Hyatt has signed a management agreement with Rua Al Madinah Holding Company – a Public Investment Fund (PIF) entity – to manage three new Hyatt-branded hotels in Saudi Arabia.
The three properties – Grand Hyatt Madinah, Hyatt Regency Madinah and Hyatt Place Madinah – will add a combined 1,729 room keys to Hyatt’s portfolio in the kingdom.
Hyatt Place Madinah will feature 860 guestrooms, a large dining restaurant, event spaces and a fitness center.
Hyatt Regency Madinah will have 539 guestrooms, multiple dining venues, a spacious lobby lounge and a Regency Club. The interiors of the guestrooms will be incorporate design elements from Madinah’s culture.
Grand Hyatt Madinah meanwhile will include 330 guestrooms, premium dining experiences, and a double-height lobby with modern interiors.

Hyatt’s current portfolio in Saudi Arabia consists of six properties across five brands: Park Hyatt Jeddah – Marina, Club and Spa, Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel and Residences, Hyatt Regency Riyadh Olaya, Jabal Omar Hyatt Regency Makkah, Hyatt Place Riyadh Al Sulaimania and Hyatt House Jeddah Sari Street.
The three new properties will be part of the Rua Al Madinah project and are set to be the first Hyatt-branded hotels in Madinah, a city that aims to attract 30 million tourists by 2030. The Rua Al Madinah project will be constructed in the area east of the Prophet’s Mosque.
It is being developed and implemented by Rua Al Madinah Holding Company. After rehabilitating 1.5million sqm, the project is set to add over 47,000 hotel rooms by 2030. As much as 83,000 sqm of the project’s master plan will consist of green areas, with open and green spaces comprising 63 per cent of the project’s total land area.
